Background
Munro is well known for his fine editions of Lucretius and Horace. He regularly travelled abroad, including visits to collate manuscripts. His professorship is, since 1911, named after his old headmaster at Shrewsbury, Benjamin Hall Kennedy, who contributed £500 on condition it was not named after him.
