Background
Aldborough, near Boroughbridge, was a 'pocket' borough with fewer than 100 voters, returning two members to Parliament from 1558 to 1832, when it was abolished. From a collection made by Mrs Fardell's youngest daughter Clara, wife, 1851, of the eminent physician Sir George Edward Paget.
