Background
Lady Rosemary Leveson-Gower (1893-1930) was the only daughter of the late 4th Duke of Sutherland and married Viscount Ednam, from 1932 3rd Earl of Dudley. She had been courted by the Prince of Wales, but marriage was forbidden by Queen Mary on the grounds of possible madness in the family. She was sadly killed in an air crash in 1930.
